EVERLAND RESORT

Everland is one of Seoul’s most famous amusement parks. It’s outdoors, but has special events for Winter (e.g., sledding). Having said that, if you do visit during winter, be prepared for a lot of rides and shops to be closed - there’s still lots to do, and crowds are much more manageable, but you won’t be able to do everything available in other seasons.

When We Visited

February 2024.

Attractions

There are various themed zones (European Adventure, Magic Land, American Adventure), each with its own attractions and restaurants. There’s also a mini zoo area (Zoo Topia) with a safari tour and a “world marketplace” near the entrance, which features your usual restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops, but also some regular shops we didn’t expect (Olive Young, 8 Seconds, Logitech).

Getting There

You can navigate here easily using Naver maps. It’s about a 1-hour drive from Seoul. Using public transport from Myeongdong takes about 1.5 hours.

Tickets

Order your tickets in advance using Klook (or equivalent). Foreigners get discounted rates when preordering through one of these services. You get your tickets instantly - so don’t need to plan too much in advance—we bought ours on the bus there.

Everland App

There is a mobile app for the park that you should download when visiting. Some attractions require you to join a virtual queue to go in, and this can only be done through the app.

<aside> 💡 Some virtual queues fill up quickly, so you should check them first thing in the morning.

You will need to register your tickets for the day in the app before you can join any virtual queues. We bought our tickets from Klook, and could register the ticket numbers included in our booking confirmation email (I couldn’t get the QR scan option to work.

You will also need to register an account in the app. This is really geared up for Korean citizens and can be a bit frustrating, as the usual verification methods didn’t work for me. In the end, I got it to work by using the “sign in with Apple” option on my phone.
